In a hair follicle test, they don’t allow you to bring loose samples of your hair because it is easy to switch. A sample of hair from the back of the head will be taken by the examiner and then sent for analysis. Employees who have taken drugs the past 3 to 4 months and will take a hair follicle test can be tested positive for drug use and may be in trouble with their employment. Hair follicle drug testing is more expensive than urine drug testing.
